August 14, 2018

The property owners on HomePlace Lane in Molino  are requesting to pay the county to make improvements on their private road.

At their Thursday meeting, the Escambia County Commission will consider setting a public hearing on the request to create the Homeplace Lane Roadway Improvements Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU). If the commission approves, the public hearing will be set for 5:31 p.m. on September 6.

No stop taking care of the private roads pay or not. It goes on now and should not. If you want county help turn the road over to the county. It’s that simple you can’t have it both ways. Or can you we will see!!!! The voters are watching.

No,some people wanted a private road paved off Muldoon Rd and wanted to pay county for it and they said no,so the people put money together and did it them selves or paid a company, let them put money together and get a company

Just east of this road on the north side is a county road named Abbott Lane that was paved years ago. It is an official “county road” that leads to one house. At least these residents are willing to pay the county for these services.

I agree with Bob, but I think they are setting up a MSBU which will collect money from each tax parcel on the road and apply the same to road maintenance. The taxpayers should not be paying anything, and all across this country MSBUs are taking over road responsibilities because HOA during the downturn and foreclosures had a difficult time collecting HOA fees. This actually will keep property values up with a good road, which means higher assessments and more tax revenue. Win/win.

Bob, it says they are going to pay the county to do it. They must be unwilling to form an HOA for their road to do it privately.

Areas to be improved that are currently private require proof of ability to transfer the
area to public ownership and must be submitted as part of the application for
    establishment of an MSBU.

    REGARDING:
“NO, NO, NO to private use of Public Monies”

Read it again and see where they were going to pay for it, not the general public.

    David for cooperation when possible
