Putnam Brings Campaign For Governor To Escambia County

August 25, 2018

Adam Putnam shared his Florida First message with supporters in Pensacola today for a grassroots breakfast in Escambia County at Bodacious Brew. Putnam was joined by Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward and State Senator Doug Broxson.

Putnam reminded the crowd of over 75 supporters that the time to vote is now.

“This is the final push and voting is on. 600,000 Republican votes have already been cast in the primary so far,” Putnam said. “The vote is on, the time to vote is now. I need you to put that vote in the bank because this is about the future of Florida.”

In his Florida First Agenda, Putnam promises that Florida will continue to put Florida veterans and military first.

“I don’t need to tell a crowd in Pensacola that Florida is the most military and veteran-friendly state in our nation, and I will continue to build on that as your Governor,” Putnam said. “We’ve got to support the men and women who preserve and protect our liberties. That’s the Florida culture that I am fighting for.”

“Adam Putnam is as genuine  of a person that has run for governor in decades. He understands your every day hard working Floridians, because he is one,” Eli Miller of Molino said after the breakfast. “Adam will be a great asset to Northwest Florida because he understands our state from tourism to agriculture.”

“It’s refreshing to have a candidate for governor that understands Florida and knows where Molino and Century are located. Someone that understands how diverse our state is and the issues we face from Perdido Key to Key West and everywhere in between,” Jacob Gilmore, also of Molino, said.

“He knows all 67 counties,” Mayor Hayward said. “He knows the value of hard work. He needs to be our next Governor of Florida.”

“Adam understands Florida’s public Schools and his passion for adding vocational education back into the school system really hit home with me as I feel every student isn’t suited for a typical college degree,” added Ronnie Gilmore of Gizmo Angus Farm in Molino, who also attended the event.

Days before the August  28 primary, a survey from the FAU Business and Economics Polling Initiative showed DeSantis, a three-term congressman from Northeast Florida, with 32 percent of the vote to 31 percent for Putnam, a two-term state agriculture commissioner.

There was one line in Putnam’s ad that I liked, Florida is not picking an apprentice but electing a governor ! Please vote with you’re head and not your funny bone. Please vote!

Choose the person not the party. He is a good ol boy politician. The Republican party is full of mularkey just like my democrat party is. All that has been done over two decades is the uppers in both parties has put more distance between themselves and the average citizen. Politicians like him scott and bush will only make it harder on the average citizen . Just try getting anything speedily processed through Putnams department he’s in charge of now. Good luck.

@chillywilly: I 100% agree re: Scott, but I still have to vote for him because his Democrat opponent is worse, and, we need another Republican in the Senate to help our President. However, in 2024, when President Trump finishes his 2nd term, I can’t imagine voting for Scott at that time.

Adam Putnam did try to stand up to Rick Scott when he fired FDLE director Gerald Bailey but the rest of the cabinet would not back him up. They where to job scared and afraid of Scott. I believe Putnam is a good man with character and integrity He is endorsed by Florida law enforcement.. Please consider candidates endorsed by Florida Law Enforcement, Im tired of criminals. and dishonesty. and under handed behavior. Dont vote party, vote the person.
Rick Scott please just go away. He Took the fifth amendment 75 times in a deposition in the largest Medicare Fraud case in history.
settled several million dollar law suits with our tax dollars for violating Florida Sunshine laws for open government, Google the firing of Gerald Bailey, former FDLE director
Total disgrace what he did to a man with a impeccable law enforcement career..Keeps all his assets hidden in a blind trust in his wife’s name.
Changed your automobile insurance, benefiting insurance companies so you only have 14 days after you have a accident. to file a medical claim, who does that benefit. Scott has already spent sixteen million on TV ads. Spent millions of our tax dollars building a sea wall around a golf course in south Florida.. Yet he vetoed most projects in our area. Scott has destroyed the department of health , department of corrections, remember when the tornadoes hit century , Scott was in Pensacola and would not even go to century to check on those folks. He privatized Silver Springs in Ocala Now looks like a dilapidated ghost
town. I was there. Tried to cut funding for in home care for disabled children and put them in senior nursing homes , thankfully a judge stepped in and stopped it. need I say more. Please Vote.

No Sale. Putnam is Establishment GOP. Remember ole Jebbie Bush? DeSantis is the right choice. Besides, if Broxson is supporting Putnam, for sure he won’t get my vote. Broxson showed his true colors when running against his opponent, Hill. We don’t need the old GOPe politicians who in reality work with the Dems against good working class people. DESANTIS ALL THE WAY!

People should vote for him, but I am concerned that he is pandering to the military to get elected when the Federal Government takes care of the Military. I would like to hear his positions on environmental issues in South Florida. The Red Tide is a natural occurrence, but what is filling the rivers in South Florida and killing marine life should be a top priority of state and federal resources. What would happen if NB and PB were shut down for eight weeks during peak tourist season. The impact would be devastating. not to mention the health impact of people breathing the toxic soup.

Also, then is Pensacola going to get a casino. Tourists drive over to Biloxi to watch a ball game, go out to dinner, and play casino games. People want to vote for a candidate which stops the State of Florida from dumping on North Florida, and allows Northern Florida to quit being treated like the red headed step child. if he can give us some hope, he will get people’s vote. The Panhandle is Forgotonia in State politics..
