Man, Granddaughter Dead At Bayou Grande

A tragic afternoon swimming took the lives of a man and his granddaughter Sunday in Escambia County.
Authorities said the man tried to save the life of his 5-year old granddaughter, but both died at Bayou Grande.
A 7-year old child who was also swimming was able to get out of the water and transported to an area hospital. An update on his condition was not available.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims as they continue their investigation.
The incident happened at the South Fairfield Park just south of Gulf Beach Highway.
