FHP: Driver Traveling Over 100 MPH Slams Into Vehicle On I-10

August 17, 2018

One person was injured in a high speed two vehicle accident on I-10 about four miles east of the state line Thursday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol said 27-yaer old Tiffany Simpson of Saraland was westbound on I-10 at a high rate of speed when she slammed her 2015 Dodge Charger into a 2007 Toyota driven by 40-year old Kendra Marra of Beachwood, NJ.  Multiple witnesses told troopers that Simpson was traveling in excess of 100 mph at that time of the crash.

The Toyota left the roadway and overturned into a wooded area about 200 feet from the point of impact. Simpson came to a stop about three-quarters of a mile away.

Simpson received minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. A 2-year old restrained child in her vehicle was not injured. Marra was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital with minor injuries.

Simpson was charged with reckless driving by the FHP.

    Where is child protective services?

This woman needs to choose between driving a race care or being a responsible mother. There are many couples who would gladly give that child a safe home.

Ms Simpson most certainly exceeded her capabilities.

    Thank the Lord.

All of her dumb actions should be illegal, ex: causing an accident, damage of property, injuring another, etc. She and other idiots should also be forced to repay the costs incurred by FHP and the fire department. A charge of reckless driving doesn’t seem to be enough.

That is child abuse, when driving that fast with a 2 year old in the car.

There is a 2 year old child alive this morning because all of us and our elected representatives demanded that when transporting a child in the car they will be in a mandated safety seat, yet driving while drunk is every bit as common as reckless driving and the lobbyist stop us from demanding mandated ignition interlock systems which do not allow drunks to start a car. This mother is very lucky that her child survived her poor choices, and a big thumbs up for those who had the courage to protect children in cars by mandating safety seats.

How about child endangerment? I am glad to hear the child was not hurt but that situation could have turned out 100% different.

The speed limit is the limit not the speed minimum……..slow down people……..your not that important……..stop being self centered………there are other people on the road………..drivers, bicyclers, walkers

She should have been charged with child endangerment.

..drivers who endanger others , with excessive speed and in a reckless manner , especially when they cause an accident causing injury and damage should get jail time..we all see drivers like this on I-10 and I-110 everyday…no different than someone firing a gun in a careless way…
