Christopher Neal, 13, pulled a firearm on a school bus and threatened other students if they told, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Neal was immediately detained.

Neal was charged with possession of a weapon on school property and aggravated assault.

@Big Sis, I’m sorry, but a “mistake” is an accident. What your brother did was make a bad decision.
Hopefully he has you and other family members to help him down the right path.
@Big Sis …..” and threatened other students if they told” sounds like little brother has some bullying issues you can help him with before his actions get away from him. He won’t be 13 forever and have that excuse.
A BB gun CAN be life threatening. I work with a young man who is a quadriplegic and has been since his early teens. He and a friend were playing with a BB gun and his friend accidentally shot him in the back/neck area. He could never walk again.
I get that this is a little boy in middle school, but he probably doesn’t realize the seriousness in what could have happened, had the same thing happened to him. I pray that someone sits down with him and explains the “wrong” he has done and hopefully he never does something like this again.
I remember when a bb gun was a toy. we would have fun with them, but now it is a deadly weapon and in the wrong hands thousands of lives could be lost. yes an eye can be lost but heck that happens when kids play baseball. only in america.
Stop talking about how Christopher messed up. He made one mistake that anyone could make. He’s my little brother and I love him and people need to shush. Anyone can make a mistake and it just happened to be him.

Or when next.

Does everyone realize there is no metal detectors or any type of security to prevent something worse from happening on a school bus. Our buses are 77 passenger buses and in most cases only one adult which is the driver. How do we protect our students on a school bus? Is the driver responsible for the welfare of each child and what he or she has in their book bag ? Backpacks. Wake up call folks. It’s not if it’s when.
Do you happen to know which school the boy attends.
