Century Woman Charged With Attacking Neighbor’s Porch, Clawing At Deputies
August 18, 2018
A Century woman was jailed after allegedly attacking her neighbor’s porch, threatening her with a pipe and clawing at Sheriff’s deputies.
Shirley Ann Knight, 62, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief with property damage and resisting arrest. She remained in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $6,000.
Knight allegedly damaged two front porch columns at a home on Academy Street with a metal pipe before threatening the resident with the pipe.
After she was arrested and placed in a deputy’s vehicle, she managed to remove one hand from handcuffs and began hitting the center divider of the vehicle. As deputies tried to re-cuff Knight, she grabbed a deputies hand, scratching him. She then attempted to claw two deputies and refused to get back in patrol vehicle, according to arrested report. Deputies picked her up and placed her inside the Tahoe. On the way to the jail, she starting spitting at the deputy and all over his vehicle, the report states. The incidents were captured on video.

@ Anne 1of2….As a veteran of over 32 years of Law Enforcement, and as many years of endless reams of reports, documents, etc., you think about writing a book, and you think there is no way people would believe this really happened. And some of it could not be printed anyway. Lord help us all.
How on earth can these deputies stay sane? These deputies need to be writing a book and publishing it just before Christmas every year. I’d buy ten copies just to entertain my family and keep them laughing.
Did they question the porch to see why it was attacked? It may have provoked her or made her trip and she couldn’t take it anymore.

Not exactly the kind of person I want teaching my special needs child or any child for that matter.
I am going to have to move to Century. My life is too quiet.
If only she devoted her time to teach children to do right and do well in school.
She wanted to be on “Live PD!”
Nice lady, glad she does not live next door to me.
No “battery on a police officer” charge? Sounds like the police officer let her off easy.
she knows what she doing she need three meals and a cot if leo had hit her then it would have abuse but she abused them and she gets a small bond wowww
Other people lead boring lives.
Century outshines them all
David for old schoolmates
I very well agree with tg. They also need to crack down on these MOLINO fools running around stealing and making dope and raking their grass at 1 in the morning .
SHE FOUND OUT HER CITY LOAN GOT TURNED DOWN
Please check the Century water system there is something bad in it. To many bad happenings in Century.
Sounds like demon possession.
Report should have read, after receiving medical treatment for multiple injuries she was then transported to jail. No has any business putting their hands on a deputy period, crazy or not and.
