Firefighter’s Charity Helps Local Fire Victims

July 1, 2018

A local firefighter’s charity has stepped up to help recent local fire victims.

The Escambia County Professional Fighters Charity donated $500 each to families that were displaced by recent fires in Ensley and Cottage Hill.

One family’s apartment was destroyed early Wednesday morning on Tumbleweed Trail off Fowler Avenue. Another family’s home on Williams Ditch Road was destroyed by fire.

The funds are raised by the charity, the majority at their annual Fire and Ice Gala in the spring. Donations are tax deductible.
