O.C. Phillips Road Bridge Reopens

June 20, 2018

A bridge over Brushy Creek Bridge on O.C. Phillips Road has reopened.  The bridge was closed by the Florida Department of Transportation last November due to a failed inspection, leading to a lengthy detour for some residents. Photos for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

Thank goodness!!!! Not that riding over extra miles of dirt road – or red oatmeal road when it’s raining – while dodging log trucks and other vehicles on often single lane stretches of road isn’t tons of fun. There for awhile when Nokomis Road and Arthur Brown Road were also closed, that left two ways in and out of a vast stretch of northwest Escambia County wooded areas. All fun and games, “let’s go muddin’, yeehaw” until someone has an emergency reason to get to town!
