Kenneth Ray Quimby

On May 28th 2018, Kenneth Ray Quimby left the earth to be with the Lord in Heaven. He was born on November 18, 1953 in Atmore, AL, but grew up in Goodway, AL. He later moved to Atmore, AL and has resided in Foley, AL for the past eight years. He is a graduate of J.U. Blacksher High School in Uriah, AL class of 1972 where he was an outstanding athlete in football and basketball. He was also an excellent musician on both drums and guitar.

He is preceded in death by his infant son Kenneth Ryan Quimby; his parents Owen and Montez Quimby; his grandparents Palmer and Ola Quimby and Ira and Pairolee Oswald. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sheila Turk Quimby of Foley, AL; two children: Heather (Ian) Campbell of London, England; Matthew (Anna) Quimby of Birmingham, AL; and a brother, Johnny M. (Marie) Quimby of Perdido, AL, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Paul Byrd, Stan Lee, Ricky Martin, Dewitt Roley, Clifford Turk and Timothy Turk.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Byrd and Chris Quimby, who serving in the US Navy and is currently stationed in Japan.

The family would like to express its sincere thanks to the Southern Cancer Center and Comfort Care Hospice for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30th 2018 at 11:30AM at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 30th 2018 from 10:30AM until service time at 11:30AM from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.
