John C. Beck

John C. Beck passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the age of 84.

He was born on December 1, 1933 in Lockhart, AL to the late Julian Beck and Gertrude Smith Beck.

John drove 18 Wheelers for years with companies such as Johnson Motor Freight Lines, Yellow Freight, ACE Hardware, and others. He was a voluntary fireman for Escambia County Florida. John also owned and operated J.C. Truck Repair and would help anyone that was broke down 24/7. He was a great Diesel Mechanic. John was a faithful servant for Jesus Christ and volunteered and served as a Deacon at almost every church he attended. He spent most of his life serving the Lord for Olive Baptist Church and Floridatown Baptist Church in Pace, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Beck, Carl Beck and Glenn Beck; sister, Roselyn Beck Sclease; sons, John Michael Beck and Charles Randall Beck; and daughter, Teresa Diane Beck.

John is survived by daughter, Kathy Beck Ellis; brother, Durwood Beck; grandson, Jason (Dora) Ellis; granddaughter, Carrie (Josh) Turberville; great granddaughters, Madisyn, Isabella, and Jessica; and great grandson, Jakob.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Josh Turberville, Dr. Jerry Passmore, and Joel Hunt officiating. Family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. prior to services.

“If you die with at least 3 good friends, you die a wealthy man. John Beck was a very wealthy man.”
