I have worked with someone who was a part of the work release and basically they are still an “inmate” but it is an entirely different facility set up to help the inmate transition back out into the “real world” they have to call and check in every few hours, the officers have to visit them at the place of employment to verify their employment, etc. They have to be back at a certain time each night and have approval before leaving the facility. This is all I know about it, I have not personally experienced this, thank God, but hopefully this helps shine some light on how he “walked out” of the facility. It is not like prison, in a cell or lock down unit to my knowledge.

Doesn’t really matter whether he was walking, running, hopping like the Easter Bunny or rolling on the ground he still is considered escaped, and I need to catch him!!!

    >>The story headline is misleading. He “walked out” of a place he walks out of daily…

The story headline does not say he “walked out”. It says “Inmate Escapes In Escambia County”.

And, according to the exact words of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, he “walked out” of the facility. Presumably he walked out at the wrong time and without permission, which is escape.

The story headline is misleading. He “walked out” of a place he walks out of daily…the Escambia County Work Release Center.

If he just walked out obviously someone is being lazy or just watched him walk out no way he couldve walked out and no one would know what hes driving seems suspicious to me.
