Elderly Pensacola Woman Stabbed, Left For Dead

June 11, 2018

A man has been charged with brutally attacking an 82-year old woman in Pensacola and leaving her for dead.

Tyler Hyden Owens, 18 was charged with attempted murder and home invasion robbery following the incident Saturday night at the Arbor Club Apartments off Ninth Avenue.

The woman was stabbed inside her apartment late Saturday night and left for dead, according to Pensacola Police. She was found by a family member Sunday morning with multiple wounds and transported to the hospital. She is expected to recover.

Police said Owens lived in a neighboring apartment.  After a search warrant was served, several items were found in his apartment that belonged to the victim, along with bloody clothes. The clothes will be tested to determine if they match blood from the crime scene.

Owens reportedly made statements about being hungry and needing food during the incident.

As a senior citizen, I am growing more disgusted by the year. I used to teach kids with behavioral problems and this is what I would expect from some of them…no conscience, no remorse and no respect for anyone or anything. This monster is probably unrepentant and a lost cause. Save taxpayers money and sentence him to a quick death before he can reproduce. His DNA needs to stop with him.

    >>Suzy, I saw HOMICIDE on the booking report as well

The Escambia jail log will show “homicide” or any other charge but not ever the “attempted”.

Suzy, I saw HOMICIDE on the booking report as well. So I was looking to see if she passed away but couldn’t find anything.

He’s gonna have a rough time in prison once the other inmates find out what he did.

As an elderly person, my thoughts are: Save society a lot of continued costs…Hang the SOB! No excuse, no reason for this act!

    @Trocarman

    You almost got it.

If found guilty he should be executed. And not 40 years later.

Speed up the process and send a message….
    We’ve had enough!!!

Referring to Trocarman comment. Any crime committed after 1995 is not eligible for Parole. They did away with it. They still have parole for pre 1995 crime. Maybe 1996 but it has been a long time

I hope Owens is sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole. If the lady dies, Owens should be executed.

What do you do with our young people who have no idea how to do anything. It is pitiful that they do these things. They have no morals or any other values. I hope he gets what he deserves and then some other help, if not he will just do It again after his prison term. Has he ever been in trouble before?

Just because you fail at an attempt to kill someone shouldn’t be a factor in a death penalty. Some people don’t deserve to breath.
