FDOT: No Lane Closures For Holiday Weekend

No lane closures are planned on state roadways today through Monday in recognition of the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The Florida Department of Transportation said even with work suspended, drivers may encounter congestion due to increased holiday traffic and/or modified traffic patterns.
FDOT encourages drivers to be safe and obey any lower posted speed limits when traveling through highway work zones.

Well, except for the ones that have been closed and detoured for years while work continues at a snails pace. I never cease to be amazed at how long road work takes and the decision making process, or lack thereof, as these projects play out. From the outside, it appears there is some perverse pleasure in tearing up the roads and making drivers life’s miserable while they take their sweet time finishing the project.
