Authorities Release Name Of Man Wanted In Wednesday Morning McDavid Manhunt

Another manhunt was underway Wednesday morning in McDavid for an individual on the run.
The suspect has been identified as Wesley Dale Owens. He is described as being 6-foot 3-inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, he is wanted for possession of a controlled substance and first degree possession of marijuana.
Sunday night, a man believed to be Owens made contact with a resident in the area of Highway 29 and Bogia Road Monday afternoon asking for water. The resident called the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office to report a suspicious person. He had fled before deputies arrived and manhunt continued into the early evening.
Wednesday, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and K-9 units from Century Correctional Institution and the Escambia County Road Prison were searching for Owens in a wooded area along Highway 29 just north of Champion Drive. The search was called off about 11:30 a.m.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620, Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP or their local law enforcement agency.

They were only trying to find him to give him water can’t have dehydrated dope heads wondering around people’s homes scaring them.
