Vehicle Hits Century Whataburger
April 30, 2018
A vehicle hit the Whataburger restaurant in Century Monday afternoon.
The driver was not seriously injured, and damage to the building was said to be cosmetic, not structural. The business remained open as usual.
The Century Station of Escambia Fire Rescue and Escambia County EMS responded. The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

I’ll take that order to go…
Whataburger meet Whatacar. Hopefully, whatatank will stay out of Century.
I agree with np630ss, a barricade system could prevent serious injuries.
Serious consideration should be given to the installation of bollards around entrance ways to public buildings. In recent years the number of vehicular crashes with occupied buildings has increased. Many involved senior citizens accelerating into restaurants, pharmacies, convenience stores and supermarkets. In my opinion, a simple investment in safety for the unsuspecting.
That’s not the drive thru window!
Thankful nobody hurt or injured in this event.
Many thoughts come to make light of this but it could have been a tragedy.
Hope all are okay in the days to come and glad the store could remain open for the employees and guests.
Love me a Whataburger.
Hope they are ok.
