Free Self Defense Class In Century This Saturday

The Town of Century will present a free women’s self defense class Saturday.
The free event is open to the public ages 14 and up. Attendees will learn simple but effective techniques that can be used against an attacker in multiple situations. Water and snacks will be provided.
The class will be held from 10 a.m. until noon at the Century Community Center on West Highway 4. For more information, call (850) 256-3208.

I prefer the .45 because having to shoot a bad guy more than once is just silly. LOL.
girls, i like that ancient oriental technique known as ka ching. i like the ones that come in what is known as .380 acp, but 9mm, .45, and others will ward off evil as well.

True I have had self defense classes and recommend this for those that have not, Even a pencil, pocketbook or keys can be a lethal weapon. Know the weak zones of the human body The best defense is avoidance and the mind made up to absolutely not intend to be a victim under any circumstance what so ever. Never .IMO
Pepper spray is also a good thing to keep on your belt, like when going to grocery store, For one I would think nothing of spraying a perp in the face, getting in my car and moseying on home but if I have to resort to the firearm then that may interrupt my schedule, so that would be a last resort, mostly because of that..
That’s my thoughts on the matter..
That’s what I was thinking Citizen. Yes, hand to hand techniques are very important, but for realistic self defense, the effective and safe use of a hand gun is of vital importance. It is a true equalizer.
If I had evil on my mind, I would take my chances attacking a woman hand to hand since I’ve studied martial arts myself and am physically larger and stronger than most women, but if she whips out even a .380 or .22…it’s not worth the risk. She doesn’t even necessarily have to fire it; the chance of “lead poisoning” alone would make me back off quickly.
Concealed Carry is always a comfort when out and about in the area also.
