Barrineau Park Road To Close For Jacks Branch Bridge Replacement

January 11, 2018

Construction activities are scheduled to begin the week of January 22, 2018 on Barrineau Park Road (Hwy. 196) over Jacks Branch in Escambia County.  Crews will remove and replace the bridge over Jacks Branch, add new guardrail, and reconstruct the approach slabs.

Barrineau Park Road will be closed and traffic detoured via Highway 29, Molino Road (Hwy. 182), and  Highway  95A.  The $1.97 million project is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2018.

This is ridiculous!!!. Another road closure and project that will not be finished for a year again …. just like Molino Road Bridge was started and then left . This county has enough road projects that need to be completed. We do not need to cause a lot morer inconvenience for the Molino residents!! Thanks County Commissioners….. can’t you do something about this??

    REGARDING:
“Won’t this closure be only on the east side of Barrineau Park Road?”

YUP, east of 29 and Molino Meadows, west of 95A.

    David for better roads

Well this is great. America investing in our infrastructure. The only hesitation is that these are the same folks who brought guardrails onto the bridge decks narrowing the roads and wondering why people were crashing into each other, This bridge is suppose to be completed in fall of 2018 and based on the comments, folks do not have a bit of confidence in these folks, and I only hope they pour continuous concrete bridge railings allowing for no obstructions on the bridge deck, but my fear is that same people will put a taco bell on the bridge and then answer criticism from the public by saying……”what…..you do not like tacos?”

This is ridiculous!!! There’s enough road construction going on around here. How about finish muscoggee before they make another detour that requires people to drive 20 mins out of the way to get to work for 8 months. I swear there is nobody in the road department with any common sense.

I remember when I was in High School, dragging a potato sack in each hand, five one gallon milk jugs in each sack, through the woods uphill from Jack’s Branch.

    Amen Frankie.

Won’t this closure be only on the east side of Barrineau Park Road? Can we still drive on it between Hwy 29 and 112?

It will not be completed by fall of 2018 I garuntee that
