Murder Suspect Charged With Stealing $13K From Jukebox

November 15, 2017

Ashley McArthur, jailed for murdering a woman whose body was found in Cantonment, is now facing additional unrelated charges.

McArthur, 40, was arrested for felony grand theft and fraud for the alleged theft of $13,301.04 from the Azalea Cocktail Lounge, which represented funds reported missing between July 10, 2015, and September 14, 2017.

According to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, lounge customers pay for games or the jukebox using cash, credit card or a mobile phone app.  The payments were to be split 50-50 between the Azalea Lounge and another company.

It was alleged that McArthur was splitting only the cash proceeds with lounge while keeping the proceeds from the credit card and mobile app payments.

McArthur is currently jailed without bond on a first degree murder charge for the death of 33-year old Taylor Wright. Wright’s body was found off Britt Road, just west of County Road 97 near Muscogee Road in Cantonment.

    Regarding:
“A jury propagated to believe the state is telling the truth, to believe, “They wouldn’t be charging her at all unless she did something”.”

All officers of the court are charged with speaking truthfully. Generally they do. They may omit some facts such as, “My client is guilty,” but anything they do say they are required to tell the truth. Witnesses may lie, which is why juries are charged with determining if they do so.

Working within the rules of evidence is a bit of a game, but cheating can land anyone in this game in prison and/or disbarred. A bunch of convicted people were recently released because the courts realized that the charging officer lied as part of an extortion plan.

President Trump will teach us to distrust the government enough to make them prove their cases (since he even denies things on video recordings).

You can’t steal from a location, only from a person or group of people.

It said she split any cash coming in but not money from credit cards or apps.

People paid money through their credit cards or through their apps. Those in turn paid money back to the lounge through her — or should have. Assuming she was guilty — which she may not have been — she did not split the money that they, the credit cards people and the apps people, paid to her with the organization called the Azalea Lounge, the owners or whoever.

    David for spreading the wealth

@ David—Also the way it is worded, I believe it is meant to mean the Azalea Lounge as the “location” it was stolen from, & not the lounge owners.

@David—The way I read it, she did not steal from the owners of the lounge (it said she paid them there split), but stole from the lounges vendors, whom it appears she had the responsibility as an employee of the lounge, to pay but didn’t. The way it is worded, since it was technically the responsibility of the lounge to pay the vendors, by a big stretch, you might say she “stole” from the lounge.

    Regarding:
“She didn’t write Azalea a check because she didn’t owe THEM any money. Read the second last paragraph again. She owed the money to the credit card & mobile app companies”

Please note that she was not charged with theft from those but from the lounge.

“felony grand theft and fraud for the alleged theft of $13,301.04 from the Azalea Cocktail Lounge”

    David for closer reading
(we all misread now and then)

I agree with ‘bartender’ that Ashley is a BLACK WIDOW. ASHLEY is 40, she should spend the rest of her life in prison. That should give her time to reflect on how and why she ruined her life. It seems like she had some help in burying the body. I wonder what other crimes Ashley was involved. Maybe she stole enough money to give her lawyer.

Yes, petty because of the intent not to find “justice”, but to secure her custody in case of a not guilty or hung jury on the murder. I say that because the justice system (here anyway) has nothing to do with the truth. It’s all about perception and how the state can make you appear to a jury. A jury propagated to believe the state is telling the truth, to believe, “They wouldn’t be charging her at all unless she did something”.

@Charlie Mike—She didn’t write Azalea a check because she didn’t owe THEM any money. Read the second last paragraph again. She owed the money to the credit card & mobile app companies.

    REGARDING”
“Just in case (she?) beats the murder charge, we found something to screw you with.”

Not unless she’s guilty of the new charges.

Petty? Why don’t you write the Azalea a check for $13,000?

She probably thought murder was petty too. She was not very intelligent, that’s for sure

  12. wow on November 15th, 2017 3:11 pm

this is the face of pure evil. The only thing that could make her worse would be crimes against a child. I hope that God has a special place for her to spend eternity!

  13. well, bob. on November 15th, 2017 1:46 pm

Well, Bob. She wasn’t actually taking it out of the machines and instead was not paying the azalea their percentage. As stated in the article…

The saga of this witch continues. What next? When you kill, lie and steal, most of the time you are caught. What’s wrong with you people?

Seems the more that’s investigated the more this woman is involved with.
Keep digging and keep exposing the ins and outs of the underground of our area.

Been in the Azalea many times and cannot imagine how she could take that much money from games and jukebox without someone getting suspicious.

    What more will come out?

Alleged murderer. Alleged thief. When she goes through the judicial process it will be CONVICTED MURDERER AND CONVICTED THIEF. MY RECOMMENDATION…DEATH SENTENCE
