Gloria J. Bowen, 80 of Walnut Hill, FL passed away Saturday November 04, 2017 at her residence.

She was a retired Seamstress with Vanity Fair Mills, born in Monroe county, AL. on February 11, 1937, to the late Mitchell Jackson and Laura Aurelia Coley Byrd. She was a member of the Nokomis Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James W. Bowen , brothers: Jack Byrd, Grady Byrd, and Keith Byrd and a sister: Bonnie Singleton.

Survivors: Three Sons: Richard (Christy) Bowen of Pensacola, FL. Douglas (Mary Anne) Bowen of Walnut Hill, FL. Robbie (Lisa) Bowen of Loxley, AL. Three Sisters: Virginia Jennie (Donnie) Broxson of Milton, FL.
Sandra (John) Womack of Pensacola, FL. and Shirley (Harold) Middleton of Burley, Idaho. Grandchildren: Nicholas, Megan, Justina, Stevie Ray, Angeline, Winter, Rhonda, BJay, Missy and Cody. Twenty-Eight Great- Grandchildren and one on the way, Two Great-Great-grandchildren

Services will be Tuesday November 07, 2017 at 10:00 AM from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Hall and Bro. Ray Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in Old Sowell Field In Monroe County,
AL. Active Pallbearers are: Rick Golson, Joe Hubbird, Nicholas Bowen, Stevie Ray Bowen, Joshua Horne , Jorge Escobedo, BJay Ditto, and John Levins. Honorary will be Richard Dube.

    I worked with her at vf she was like a mother to me i was 18 and just out of high school she took care of me out there we were good friends she was a wonderful friend as time went by we lose touch but she will always have a special place in my heart. I pray for her family in this time but know we will see her again .thought and prays
