Clyde Lee Parazine

Clyde Lee Parazine, 82, of Pensacola, died Sunday, November 12, 2017, in his home with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Parazine was born April 25, 1935 in Pensacola to Charles Herman and Ruby Pauline Parazine. Clyde grew up in Pensacola, where he attended local schools. He graduated from Pensacola High School in 1953, where he played baseball. Mr. Parazine served proudly in the United State Marine Corps from 1953 to 1961. He married the love of his life, Joyce Harris, on November 2, 1957. After his military service, he worked at May Supply then spent 25 years at Chas. A. Born. In 1985 he became part owner of Plumbing and Mechanical Supply and retired in 2000. Clyde was a faithful member at Olive Baptist church for over 70 years, where he served in many capacities. He was a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, served on various committees and was church treasurer for many years. Even in retirement and failing health, he looked forward to going to the church to sign checks and taking everyone candy. He enjoyed working with the children’s choir and singing in the adult choir. Clyde also enjoyed directing music at various churches in the area. Clyde enjoyed playing baseball, softball and was an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren on the ballfield and golf course. A family tradition was going to the mountains at Thanksgiving with the whole family. Clyde also served on the board of the Northwest Florida Blood Center. He donated 33 gallons over 50 years. In 2011, he attended the America’s Blood Center Awards of Excellence where he received the national Larry Frederick Award given in recognition for community leadership in raising awareness of the need for blood donations.

Mr. Parazine is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ruby Parazine and his brother, Hal Parazine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce; daughter, Vicki (Chris) Golightly of Pensacola; son, Randy (Sandie) Parazine of Pace; grandson, Brett (Carolyn) Golightly of Bettendorf, IA; granddaughter, Kristen Golightly of Meridian, MS; grandson, Ryan (Kayla) Parazine and their children, Truett and Ann Clayton of Mobile, AL; brother, Charles (Buddy) (Gay) Parazine of Pensacola; sister-in- law, Carla Parazine of Bald Knob, AR; brother-in- law, Pete (Betty) Harris of Pensacola and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Olive Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Passmore and grandsons, Brett Golightly and Ryan Parazine officiating.

Pallbearers were Brett Golightly, Ryan Parazine, Dr. Larry Morris, Dean Anderson, Johnny Newton and Paul Talley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Olive Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice especially Robin, Roxanne, and Danielle for the outstanding care they provided.
