Congratulations to a great man. You are truly a blessing Coach Gilmore.
I cannot top the accolades that others have already written: “classy,” “superb,” “professional,” “caring,” “great.” So I will just say, Congratulations, Dale. It is an honor to know you.
Congratulations Dale…you are one of the great ones who returned honor to all teachers who taught you and to all our classmates who knew you. What a great legacy!

Congratulations Dale! Great accomplishment. We grew up together at Booth field playing Little League baseball and football with the St Regis Seedlings. You were a great athlete then and an outstanding educator for an entire career!
He should have been teacher of the year every year since I started there in 1979-83 He is a good man.
I did not have Mr. Gilmore as a teacher when I was at Tate but he was my neighbor for more than 10 years. He is a very classy man, and have no doubt that he’s a great teacher.
Congratulations Dale. This honor is going to a great teacher. Miss you all since I retired.
Congratulations! Well deserved. Too bad I’ve retired or I’d come celebrate with you. Loved teaching with you.
Congratulations, Coach Gilmore.
Great leader, teacher and football coach. Never forget your Civics class and 9th grade football!
Class of 1984 (dang, I’m old!)
Mr. Gilmore was my dean at Wedgewood Middle. He has also taught my 3 son’s and daughter at Tate. What a awesome award for a awesome teacher. Congrats!!!!

Congrats from the class of ‘86
Mr. Gilmore was my American National Government (AP) Teacher back in 99-00, and I always looked forward to him “opening the canteen” so that we could stock up on sugary items like M&Ms to help us get through that 1.5 hours of discussing everything from Marbury Vs. Madison to the last chapter of “In our Defense”. He’s a SUPERB teacher and I’m proud he earned Teacher of the year- a well deserved honor!
Also he hasn’t aged a day in the last 17 years!
Congratulations Dale! What a great honor for a very good person. Former Class mate.
Congratulations Dale
I know of no one who could deserve this more. Thanks for being the best example of what all of us believe a teacher should be. Acclamation for you brother, you earned it!!
Teacher rule #134: “If you don’t have a sense of humor you will never survive in this line of work.” Congratulations, you are one of the BEST!

Sounds like he is another Coach McLeod from the late 1960s. Coach McLeod taught Florida History also.
I worked with Dale at Pine Forest HS aka Happy High for several years. Always the professional and example for others to emulate.
Now after 44 years in the “salt mines” enjoy a little of retirement…every day is Saturday. I’ll assure you when school starts every day you’ll not say…”I wish I could be there.”
I didn’t go to Tate but my sister Shana Sanders did. She was taken 10 years ago by a drunk driver but I can still remember her talking about Mr. Gilmore. If she loved him I’m sure sure he is a great teacher!
As a graduate of Tate many years ago I can tell you that there is NOT another individual employed by the school district with more character, integrity and good will than Dale ‘Coach’ Gilmore! We are blessed that he hasn’t retired yet and only God knows why with the way things are headed.
What a Great Teacher. Keep up the great work coach..
Mr Gilmore is a great teacher. I enjoyed his class at Tate High School and still carry around a few profound nuggets of wisdom that he shared with me 15 years ago. Congratulations Mr Gilmore.
