Man Charged With Battery Of Girlfriend, Her Grandmother

September 3, 2017

An Escambia County man has been charged with battery on his girlfriend and her 69-year old grandmother.

Deputies responded to the victim’s residence where she stated that her boyfriend, 31-year old Kristopher Durant Coates, had struck her several times in the face with a closed fist while the two were involved in a verbal argument.  The victim told Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies that Coates also hit her grandmother in the face with a closed fist.

He fled on foot as the victim called deputies, according to an arrest report. He was taken into custody the following day.

Coates was charged with felony battery on a person 65-year of age or older and battery. He was released from the Escambia County Jail on bond.

It’s sad he beats on the elderly, the let him lose to do it again….I truly pay that ESCAMBIA County makes him pay in many ways….I know this elderly woman personally, and she supports his entire family.

    @ Kathy Schoppmeyer

Kathy, my guess is the ‘girlfriend’ bailed him out because she couldn’t stand to see her man in jail. And nobody understands him the way she does. And he really is a good person just in a bad place. CRAP

Abusive behavior and acceptance of that sort of lifestyle just sees to roll on and on with certain personalities.

It would be interesting to know for sure though who bailed him out.

Anne, I’ll play, girlfriend did it, cause she “love’s him and the way he “loves” her.

Out the next day?? This is the very reason some people do not control their anger because they do not fear the law or what the consequences are. Just a slap on the hand and out the next day. Where are the victims rights?

WHAT IS IT with these pukes beating up on older women or men?
Guess it makes them more “manly” to thrash someone much older and unable to adequately defend themselves?
    Released on BOND???
Wonder who paid to get his sorry butt out of the slammer?
Anyone want to hazard a guess who got him out?

Hitting a elderly woman is as low as you go in my opinion. Put his sorry self under the jail.
