Driver Injured After Hitting Mailbox

One person was trapped in their vehicle following a single vehicle accident on Kings Road off East Kingsfield Road Wednesday morning.
The vehicle overturned after the driver left the roadway and struck a large residential mailbox. The driver was transported to an area hospital by Escambia County EMS after being extricated from the vehicle.
The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

I’ll bet that is not the first time someone has damaged their mailbox. Thats why it was built like that.
Don’t blame the mail box when you’re in a 25MPH zone and flip a vehicle..
Glad it was a mailbox and not a kid. Don’t know what happend in this accident, but I sure see many drivers who are distracted. And mainly distracted by their phones. People! Please put your phone down and pay attention to what you are doing.

Still have me thinking why mailboxes are allowed to be so well built on the roadway rightaway. All highway signs must be built to break away in an accident.
I’ve never seen a mailbox entombed in concrete like that.
Amazing to me how easy cars can flip. Hope they are okay and not injured. That mailbox is a Beast.
