Century Approves $381K In Drainage Projects

The Town of Century has accepted a bid for miscellaneous drainage system improvements.

The low bidder on the five-area project was J. Miller Construction of Pensacola at $381,065. Complete bids were as follows:

  • B&W Utilities $400,43.85
  • Chavers Construction $480,688.50
  • J. Miller Construction $381,065.00
  • Utility Service Company $628,217.36

The drainage improvements will include work in the Pinewood/Mayo area; George Avenue, Jefferson Avenue/Barnwell Lane area, Hilltop Road, and Ivey Street.

The acceptance of J. Miller Construction’s low bid is contingent upon approval by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, which is funding the complete project.

    I like that picture of Century Town Hall. Hope you use it more than the dark clouds and the half mast flag.

    I have come to realize, they run the utility, and that in itself enough.

    The rest is icing on the cake, and the incorporation status enables them to do other things.

    Yes the antics are interesting, They are just regular folks stepping up to the plate.

    Hope they get the drainage grants, it is really low over in those places, hope it’s a ditch not another skeeter pond though, even so these smart people will stock the ponds ..even if we don’t vote to decorate them for the tourists..

    It will be Ok..
