Quintette Pedestrian Accident Claims One Life; FHP Seeks Clues To Man’s Identity

A pedestrian accident early Thursday morning in the Quintette area has claimed one life., and the Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the victim’s identify.

The accident happened on East Quintette Road just off Highway 95A about 2 a.m.

According to FHP, a 2007 Toyota Cruiser driven by Trenton Rhodes was traveling west on Quintette Road when he struck a white male pedestrian that for an unknown reason was in the west bound lane. The pedestrian was transported by Escambia County EMS to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he later passed away.

The victim’s identity is unknown, and he FHP is  asking for the public’s help in identifying the man.

The victim was walking on Quintette Road at 2 a.m. and is described as a white male between the ages of 25-30. He had black hair and was wearing black jeans and tan work boots. He had  white cell phone and white ear phones. Anyone that might know his identity is asked to call the FHP at (850) 484-5000 or email davidtodd@flhsmv.gov.

The Cantonment Station of Escambia Fire Rescue also responded to the accident.

    Prayers for all involved. This is the older brother of the two babies my sister is fostering right now. Such a sweet caring young man who loved his siblings very much. RIP sweet angel.

    It didn’t say he was wearing a dark colored shirt just dark jeans. If there were a safe place for him to walk on that road and/or street lights there is a chance he would still be here. This isn’t the first devastating thing to happen on that road and most likely won’t be the last

    I’m sorry this happened…. Truly truly sorry….
    Please, people… If you’re out on foot and it is dark wear LIGHTER colored clothing (reflective is better). Don’t walk IN the road… Once they see you it’s too late.

    Sidewalks aren’t the answer as complained about on social media. How about people not walk in the ROAD in the DARK wearing dark CLOTHES.
    AGAIN I’m NOT BEING UGLY this was a freak accident I don’t wish it to happen on ANYONE. But PLEASE teach your children how to be SAFE when out after dark.
    This includes the part of not walking in the road with dark clothing on.
