Eddie Jerrell MuseĀ  was born in Canadian, TX to Tom and Mae Muse October 10, 1937, and died August 1, 2017.

Ed left home and served in the United States Navy from 1955, with duty stations aboard the USS Roosevelt, USS Wasp, USS Lexington, Mayport, FL, Lakehurst, NJ, Virginia Beach, VA, Ellison Field, FL, NAS Pensacola FL until 1977.

Ed lived many years in Cottage Hill, FL. He was a member of Cottage Hill Assembly of God Church, where he served as a deacon.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby Ward Muse, two stepsons, one granddaughter and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Eloise Jackson Muse, his Texas family including one brother, Harper (Betty) Muse, one niece, one nephew and their children. His Great Grandson, Raymond E. Love (Ashley Rossel) whom he and wife, Ruby raised as their son, 5 step children, DeLois Brown, Tommy (Kathy) Ward, Joyce (Arnold) Burkett, Bennie (Jenny) Ward, Barbara (Donnie) Kilcrease.

Ed was known to 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren as Pops, Paw Paw and Paw Ed.

The last place he called home was with Raymond and his family, who loved and cared for him.

In Ed’s journey through life, he touched people with his laughter, stories and willingness to help. His absence will leave a void in the lives of many, but his memory will carry on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with Rev. Gene Hudson officiating.

Burial will be at the Byrneville Methodist Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2017, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ray Love, Shane Burkett, Bo Martin, Bennie Ward, Michael Ward and B.J. Ward.

Honorary pallbearer will be Butch Blackmon.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes is in charge of all arrangements, Atmore, Alabama.
