Driver Suffers Minor Injuries In Highway 97 Accident

One person received minor injuries in a single vehicle accident on Highway 97 Wednesday afternoon in Walnut Hill. The driver of a pickup lost control just north of the Walnut Hill Fire Station, ran off the roadway struck a fire hydrant base and a small tree before coming to a stop just before hitting a power pole. The driver was transported to an area hospital by Escambia County EMS. The Walnut Hill Station of Escambia Fire Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol also responded to the crash.
