Carnley Road Near Century Is Washed Out And Closed
August 5, 2017
Carnley Road near Century has washed out again just south of the Florida/Alabama state line and is closed. Repairs are expected early next week. The road also washed out in late June. Carnley Road is a short roadway just northeast of Century, between Fannie Road in Florida and Old Fannie Road in Alabama. This comment is towards the last one that was made.the road leads out to go thru and go put by the old air products plant it is use all the time so needless to say if they would fix the problem instead of patching it with sand and not doing nothing to fix the stopped up pipes that is not letting the water go thru it they wouldn’t be wasting time and money if they will come in and put bigger pipes and fix it right they will never have to come back out again thanks
Should leave it closed this time and stop wasting money on a road to nowhere.
The top picture, which shows the barricades floating in the washout, has the evidence as to why the washout occurred. Those logs that were pushed thru the drain and eventually up thru the pipe, is what caused the undermining of the road and eventual washout.
Perhaps they will repair it correctly this time. One can only hope.
Why did it wash out twice in two months? Maybe poor design/execution?
