Work To Begin Soon On Highway 168 Bridge Closed After Failed Inspection

July 10, 2017

Work should begin soon on a Highway 168 bridge that was closed in May 18 after failing an inspection.

Gulf Marine was the successful bidder on the project at $101,677. Once project paperwork is completed, work will likely start and completed in about 60 days. But a specific schedule from the contractor won’t be set until a purchase order is complete.

Meanwhile, the bridge over Reedy Creek on Highway 168 near  Wawbeek Road remains closed. Drivers are detoured on Highway 4 via Raines Road to the east and North Highway 99 to the west.

WHY can’t they finish some bridges first before they close more of them. FL DOT is the worst

Infrastructure is crumbling and taxpayer money being funneled to the chamber and jailing non violent dopes to a million dollar free room and board for 25 years. So we could fix 10 bridges for what that one dope is going to cost taxpayers, as taxpayers subsidize the blue angel weekend while bridges are crumbling. Where is the common sense. Where are conservative values and conservative priorities. How about this unique idea……spend taxpayer money to educate our kids, keep our bridges safe, and pave our roads. I do not care if the Century Chamber got 15 more visitors on the taxpayer dime. We have lost our minds.

Best to keep riding the way the traffic was detoured. Helped break old habits and go a better route.
