Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Hitting Deputy, Woman And House

An Escambia County woman has been charged with attempted murder after hitting a house, an Escambia County deputy and another woman Tuesday afternoon.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office had responded to another call on Wildflower Lane when 26-year old Star Perkins veered off the roadway and struck Deputy Timyron Young and Brenda Gonzalez before hitting a house where debris struck Dickson Gonzalez who was walking to the front door. Her vehicle came to final rest with its front portion inside the house. Perkins also struck a couple of parked vehicles.
Perkins was arrested Tuesday night by the Florida Highway Patrol and charged with attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, attempted murder, driving under the influence with serious bodily injury and driving under the influence with property damage. She was booked into the Escambia County Jail without bond.
Deputy Young was treated for a leg injury and is in serious condition, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Gonzalez was in critical condition.

It was attempted probably because she was trying to kill her mom by running her over. The deputy was near the mother and was also injured. Therefore the state charged her with 2 counts.
How are Brenda Gonzales and officer Timyron Young doing? My grand daughter was the little girl in the home and I thank God she wasn’t hurt. I have not been able to see her since she was a Year old. A lot of problems in this home. I truly wish thing’s could have been difficult. May God bless them and watch over Timyron and Brenda.

Attempted murder is exactly that “attempted”. She “attempted” to murder the victims but ended up severely injuring them instead. The criminal charges are based on intent. Since they have not died yet, the charge is listed as Attempted Homicide. I’ll be praying for all the deputy, the civilians and their families.
People, it was premeditated because she was aiming to hit her mother! They were in a domestic dispute when law enforment was called. She hit her mother, and the others. From what I hear she has a Long history with her mother..
It wasn’t an “Accident”.. It was a crazy daughter running her momma over. There’s a long history of her problems. she just jumped into the big league now.

Sounds like a drunk ran off the road and struck a LE cruiser then slammed into a house?
The article does not indicate, or imply, any connection between Ms Perkins, LE and the owners of the house?
This is my ex daughter in law. I raised my granddaughter the first year of her life and at one point had custody of her. My heart just hurts so much for my granddaughter. I literally moved away from Pensacola because of their madness. She was gotten away with too much. I need to know what I legally can do??

I did read the article, then I looked at the Jail website and it shows 2 counts of 1st degree premeditated murder, so I was just checking.

It was reported it was the law officers second trip to the house so it must have been a feud between the two women and the officer was caught in the middle, literally. A t least she is where she needs to be.

Why was it attemted, I do not know the story did not say why she tried to kill him.
I guess just the way the article was written and the lack of details, made it unclear of her motive, if there was one. Seemed to be a drunk driving “accident”. Obviously accidents are preventable and she should have never made the decision to drink and drive. However, my little knowledge of the law reflects in me not seeing this as an intentional act. Reckless and careless none the less, but not an “attempt” based on the information I read.

Does she know the deputy personallly and wanted to kill him or was she drunk or high and acted crazy? Why was it attempted Murder?
