Woman Arrested For Allegedly Hitting Father With A Cast Iron Skillet

July 19, 2017

A woman has been arrested for attacking her father in Cantonment, even allegedly hitting him on the head with a skillet.

Erica Leanne Tull, 31, was charged with first degree battery and felony aggravated battery using a deadly weapon.

Tull and her father got into argument at a home on Kittrell Street, just off Muscogee Road in Cantonment, over her late mother’s “hope chest”. She wanted to take possession of the hope chest, but her father denied her. She then struck him with a propane bottle and a cast iron skillet, according to her arrest report, before “trashing” the house.

The father was treated for his injuries at Pensacola hospital.

When deputies caught up with Tull on Lakeview Avenue “she appeared under the influence of various narcotics”, the report states. She remained in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $21,500.

Hugh, first of all , you know absolutely nothing about me. Just because I offer to help Erica, does not mean that I approve of her actions. I truly hope she gets the help she needs whether it be from me or someone else. Maybe you shouldn’t judge so quickly sir. God Bless you !

Repeat offender and not learning her lesson. @ Michelle – allow her to come live with you, since you want to help out so much. Erica WAS a respectful person several years ago. But addiction took over and she forgot about all that. Her mother is praying for her in Heaven. We are praying for her father to recover and stay safe ! We are praying that Erica stays in jail and don’t get out for a year or two.

This young lady was friends with my daughters and she was alway respectful. She frequented our home back then.I guess over the years people change some for the good some for the bad. What a shame.

Wow, what a sad young woman to reach a point that she hits her own father for a material object.
Did this woman even think that her dad wasn’t quite ready to let those things go yet? People have to grieve in their own way/time. Hopefully she gets the help she needs and soon.

    @ Anne 1 of 2

Same here, have family items from generations ago which are precious to me and my kids.
Guessing this Tull woman had ideas of selling the contents at a cut-rate cost to whomever would buy them and use the money to help buy her “medicine”.
Tull needs to stay locked up and away from dad until she dries out.
Sad situation. Kids involved? Then a Tragic situation.
Prayers her dad heals up well and completely.

Ok then another loser. Let the punishment fit the crime.

Well. I really don’t think that would of made me mad enough to hit my Father over the head. I would never hit one of my parents.
I think she was wanting to sell the things in the hope chest. SHAME ON HER!! I hope dad is doing good.

Give me a break Belinda! It’s not about the Hope Chest, but what she can buy with the money and her father knew that. She should be charged with attempted murder. I hope her father is going to be OK.

I wonder what’s in the hope chest that she wants to sell. I know what is in a few hope chests right now. One is full of silverware in a chest of its own. Others with antique linens. Things people no longer use but they are valuable and easily sold to collectors.

Maybe her mom had told her she could have it at her death, cause I know usually mothers do have them for their daughters. If that is the case he should have let her have it otherwise that would have made me mad too. Unless there was more than one child then they should all divide it. Maybe they will both come to their senses & settle this soon where she can get & stay out of jail. Sounds like she’s having a hard time dealing with her moms death too. Prayers for this family
