Carolyn Jeanette Coleman Odom

Carolyn Jeanette Coleman Odom passed away at home on July 13, 2017, in Bay Minette, AL surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a housewife and loving mother and grandmother. She was loved and respected by all who knew her.

She was a member of Healing Waters Church in Bay Minette, AL and the Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, embroidering, sewing, and other similar crafts. She was an Auburn fan and has changed the password to the streets of gold to War Eagle!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Henry and Evie Grissett Coleman; her husband of 66 years, James B. ‘Jim’ Odom; one son, Joseph Wayne Odom; two sons-in-law; one grandson and two great-granddaughters.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Coleman Dease and brother, Jerry Coleman, both of Barnett Crossroads; her children, Claude Odom and Gayle Johnson, both of Atmore, AL, Eddie and Faye Odom of Nokomis, FL, Tommy and Voncile Odom of East Brewton, AL, Jackey and Sheila Odom of Nokomis, FL, Johnny and Sandra Odom of Bay Minette, AL, Carolyn and Gary Posey of Flomaton, AL, Donald and Charlene Odom of Barnett Crossroads, AL, Arthur Odom of Orange Beach, AL, Isabell Odom of Flomaton, AL, Jerry and Tangie Odom of Electic, AL, Joyce and Debbie Fisher of Dell Rio, TX, Jenny Hutto of Bay Minette, AL and Linda Odom of Gulf Shores, AL; 32 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 17, 2017, from the Liberty Baptist Church in Pineview, AL with Bro. Tony Richburg and Bro. Joey Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Jim and her son Joe.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her great-granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be wearing patriotic ribbons in honor or memory of veterans in her family which includes her late husband, three sons, a grandson, nephew, uncles, and cousins.

Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
