July 20, 2017
The $3 million bridge replacement project on County Road 97A over Boggy Creek near Enon in Escambia County is underway. Traffic has been moved to a temporary bridge while crews construct a new, modern bridge encompassing 12-foot travel lanes, eight foot shoulders and a solid concrete barrier railing. The bridge approaches will also be replaced. Work is anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2017, weather permitting. The bridge to be replaced was constructed in 1969. So thankful that this time and on the other bridge done just before this one, that it was and is being done correctly and professionally. Can’t help but thinking how much time and money would have been saved if these two bridge had been done correctly the first and second + times, and not without telling the residents in this area ahead of time and making them drive for miles out of the way unexpectedly. Thanks to all who are making these two bridges safe again, AND for warning the residents ahead of time and making a temporary and safe bridge. And, thank you for hiring professional and courteous workers this time around. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Wonder if the monster from ” The Legend of Boggy Creek” will be able to get beneath the new bridge?……..
