Vandals Strike Cantonment Sportsplex For A Third Time
June 2, 2017
For the third time in less than two weeks, vandals have once again struck at the Cantonment Sportsplex.
Thursday, ballpark officials reported that a sprinkler system was vandalized.
Previously damage was reported to lights and bathroom fixtures on May 30 and bathrooms were vandalized the previous week with fixtures broken and paper towels used to cause overflows.
Anyone with information on any of the incidents is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

I think it’s sad and pathetic to damage anyone’s property. Yes, I AM one of the people that own a four wheeler AND ride on the power lines beside my house with my grandkids and step kids and not at midnight. I DO NOT tear up anyone’s property and it’s sad how everyone is punished for one persons wrong doing. If you look at the tracks in the pic a little closer they appear to be from a VEHICLE. The tires on my four wheeler would have done a lot more damage. Yes, a camera system would work so people can get all the facts before they jump to conclusions and blame others. That’s why just about everything fun in Florida has been restricted because of inconsiderate hooligans!!! People need to raise they’re kids to respect other people’s property. So frustrating!!
Very nice camera systems at sams club or online for only $550. Ballpark doesnt have $550?
MABY THE LIHHTS DISTURB WILDLIFE/RESIDENTS …only a thought , cuz I live a mile away and it lights up my trees .
Locking the gate won’t work–they walk over through the woods. Cameras would be great except no money to purchase them (county won’t buy them) and there are limited fixtures to put them up on where it would beneficial, neighborhood watch is great idea except these idiots are doing it in broad daylight sometimes, ECSO is called every single time but they can’t be there 24/7.
The only way I see this ending is for someone to rat them out. Someone knows what’s up and knows or suspects who these people are. I say canvas the neighborhoods around the complex. I guarantee these are teenagers with nothing better to do and probably have a history of this sort of behavior.
Try locking the gate at night
I’m with Calvin 100.00 reward would work, heck’ l will put up the money for a arrest
At least we know they can read, and enjoy reading about themselves. How about going to get a job jerks, before you have an arrest record, or is that what you want?
So…..Just don’t fix it.
Seems as if some security cameras would be a wise investment, compared to the cost of all this vandalism….a cop posted in disguise might be a good deterrent as well!
Sounds like these vandals like the media attention.
Sad to read this happened again.
Hundred dollar reward will work
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM! Call the ECSO and they will tell you how to go about it, they will even have someone come out and talk at your meeting,.
Anything is worth a try at this point.
This is the I don’t have anything I don’t want you to have anything mentality. No parental guidance.
Can’t have anything over in the hood!! Folks don’t take any pride in having what could be a nice sports complex!!! It was predicted when the country first submitted plans to build. Sad truth
Folks, do you need a volunteer to stake this place out? How about the loan of a pair of good game cameras?
This is unacceptable.
There is no place in our society for such individual/s.
Apprehend, make disposition!
Oh please let me catch the hoodlums…seems they really need some extreme discipline in their lives
seems like it should be pretty easy to catch these kids … a 50 dollar camera system would probably do the trick.
The police should sit there and wait on them like they do early hours of the morning on highway 29 in cantonment anyway. Its sad to see money going to waste like that. Yoir parents should have spanked you as children. Karma always comes back .
