Glad to hear they’re safe. I’ve been dragged downstream myself a few times on the Perdido and it’s a scary experience! I think these boys will know better next time!

Be especially careful with young children at the perdido river. At times, the current will swiftly take them away.

Thank you to all the First Responders, volunteers, neighbors and friends who helped reach a happy conclusion. Boys learned several valuable lessons, I am sure. Mr. and Mrs. Frank were instrumental in launching a great rescue. Thank you all and God bless.

Perdido is very dangerous at that level. The kids should have known better. Even with a life jacket you could easily drown. Launching a Jon boat is even dangerous at that level. Check USGS website before planning your trip on Perdido. However, it can fall 6′ in a 24 hr period.

Great news that they were found safe!! I would not personally and wouldn’t recommend Launching anything or anybody when the river is this high! That water is very swift when it’s not flooded!!
