Century Man Charged With Attacking Several People

June 23, 2017

A Century man as been charged with battery against several people at a local residence.

Jimmie Jett Moore, 51, was charged with two counts of first degree battery, first degree battery domestic violence and burglary with assault and battery. He remained in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $28,500.

Deputies with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance in the 9400 block of Ivey Street in Century. A victim told deputies that he was inside his RV when Moore punched him, causing him to fall through the doorway. Moore then punched the victim repeatedly, he claimed.

A witness corroborated the victim’s story. Moore’s mother told deputies she stuck him several times with a broomstick to get him to stop beating the other two men.

Moore also allegedly attacked his live-in girlfriend at a nearby residence on Cottage Street.

No reason for the attacks was given in Moore’s arrest reports.

Moore made several statements while being transported to the Escambia County Jail that he would “take care of the problem” when he is released.

I just seen Jimmy Jett in the Dollar Store not to long ago. He seemed to be doing good. I was so hoping for his sake and his families that he would finally have jail behind him. He’s lived a rough life and was hoping that he would change now that he’s older. Not sure why he done what he done but I wish he’d just let the law handle problems instead of him trying to. He needs to stay out of trouble and be here for his Mama while she’s still on this earth. Keeping him and his family in my prayers.

“Taking care of the problem” is exactly what needs to happen, but Jett’s way of doing it is wrong. Whatever Jett maybe, his heart was in the right place with what he was trying to do. Too bad that the LEOs or the Center for Elderly Abuse cannot step in and do something to “take care of the problem”.

I hope he is kept behind bars for a very long time. He said he was “going to take care of the problem when he gets out”.

I haven’t seen Jimmie Jett in 20 years or more, but he’s aged 40 years in that time! Stay away from the drugs and alcohol and maybe some of the misery shown on your face will start to go away!!!

If he states that he will “take care of the problem” when he is released, why would he even have a bond? More then likely he will. I just don’t understand our justice system.

They might want to rethink the low bond if he made statements like that. Only bad things will happen.

So he’s going to take care of himself when he gets out ?
    Seems to be the problem.
