Body Of Missing 12-Year Old Naomi Jones Discovered (With Gallery)

The body of missing 12-year old Naomi Jones was discovered Monday afternoon in the area of Detroit Boulevard and Ashland Avenue in Eight Mile Creek.
The body was discovered about five miles from where Jones was first reported missing about 1 p.m. last Wednesday in the 1400 block of East Johnson Avenue. The body was found by men who were looking to go fishing.
Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan says the case is now being investigated as a homicide.
Multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including scores of volunteers, have spent the past several days searching for Jones.

My prayers and deepest condolences goes out to this BEAUTIFUL young lady’’s parents. I’m familiar with her parents, hurt and pain of losing a child. I lost my own child 4 years ago. And I’m here to testify that her parents life will be drastically changed forever. It’s going to be an heart-wrenching emotional rollercoaster.
I’m praying that Jesus Will give them peace in the midst of this tragedy and that God will Comfort their Brokenheart

Poor young Naomi was such a beautiful child. You can see the happiness and joy in her pretty eyes in her picture. Sure hope whoever did this is caught quickly and punished without mercy. I can’t even begin to imagine the heartbreak the family is going through right now…I will be praying that they can find some peace.
How tragic! We prayed for this little girl that she would be found safe and sound! I’ve lost a child, so I know the pain this family is feeling. My prayers are with you. The location of where they found her should have lots of video camera around on those businesses. I’m sure the law is looking into that, but if they aren’t, they should be!! I cannot even fathom a loss of this magnitude. My heart breaks for this baby and her family. This is the reason that I am so strict on my children….to the point I don’t hardly let them outside alone. My heartfelt sorrow for her family. I hope that whoever is responsible is living in torture knowing what was done to that poor, innocent child and her family. He will never live another day of peace and I pray that he is caught soon and he receives the maximum sentence and the other prisoners know what he has done as sometimes prison justice is better.
I have been keeping up with all of the news stories about this case. Yesterday watching the news and hearing the worst possible outcome, bothered me deep down. This is so hard to believe. This beautiful, precious young girl, taken from her family, friends, community. We all grieve at the loss. Who knows what she may have grown up to be, what with her bright eyes and brilliant smile? I grieve for her family and friends. I grieve that there are monsters in this world that would steal the lives of children. God knows and sees all of them, and unless they truly turn to Him, accept His love and mercy, and take the responsibility for what they have done, they WILL go to hell and be tormented for all of eternity. They must face their punishment. Remember, even David, a man after God’s own heart, had to bear the consequences of his own sin. Like many others, I did not know Naomi before May 31st. Like many others, on that day, Naomi became someone we could all identify with. Race didn’t matter. She was like our daughter, our sister, our friend. All that mattered was there was a 12 year old child missing and we needed to get her home safe to her family. Together, our community came together to try to find this precious child. As each day passed, we continued searching, praying, asking for clues to help bring her home. Naomi is home now. She isn’t with her family but she is resting comfortable in the Lord’s arms. My prayer today and in the days to come is that her family and friends and our community can heal from this tragedy. I pray that her family finds the peace that surpasses all understanding and can find a way to heal. Thank you to all the volunteers, law enforcement, FBI, etc that assisted in bringing Naomi home. Now, it’s time to bring her killer to justice. I pray that each day brings new clues in their search and that justice for Naomi will be swift. God Bless Naomi, her family, friends and our community.
what in the HELL has this community become that we allow animals like this to roam the streets? This town has gone from a quiet, sweet and fun-loving area to a town full of vermin and cowards who would destroy the life of a sweet young girl like this, and more. What kind of thought process allows for anyone to justify the murder of an innocent little girl like this? I hope the bastard(or bastards) that did this die a slow and painful death, knowing that their ultimate resting place will be a place of no rest and eternal damnation. To the cowards that did this, I hope the entire community comes together in condemning you and stands up for the person or persons who get to see you to your death. God bless this little girls family in the hopes that some healing can begin for you. We need to show these folks all the love and caring that we can offer to them in their time of need and beyond. Black, white, yellow, purple or green, we’re all human in this and the divide needs to stop while we join together and clean this area of these kinds of animals.

Senseless – when tragedy strike we all get angry – we want to march and we want to protest but there is somebody out there that knows something. Our society has become so apathetic toward the lives of others. We are all one people. This child was 12 and more than likely knew the suspect. WE all have to be careful who we allow in our children’s lives. I’m sure by now they already know who did it they are just gathering information to prove it and it probably won’t be a stranger. This is so tragic, every parent and Grandparent in Our city is suffering grief, this little girl could have been anyone’s daughter or Granddaughter, to think now that there is no safe place for children to play, no safe neighborhood, no place for a parent to allow their children to just be children. This beautiful little, innocent child will not get to graduate , will not get to go to college , will not get to fall in love and get married, will not get to have children and grandchildren, all of this stolen by a child predator. Prayers go out to the family of this little girl there is no telling what this little girl went thru alot of sick people in this world hope the law enforcement can find out who did this. SO SAD
Absolutely heartbreaking. My prayers are with the family & friends of this girl. I cannot imagine that happening to my 12 yr old child. May God provide for this family in their time of need for grace, mercy, & healing. May the law agencies find the needed answers & bring her killer to justice so that the family can have closure. It’s pure EVIL that can harm a child. SICK!!
Wow I’m just plain shocked, I never thought anyone in escambia county would have the heart to do this. I grew up there and this type of stuff is rare. I guess creeps are everywhere.
All I know is this is disgusting this place we live in today is flooded with perverts and sick people. They better catch whoever done this before the Father of this child does I know if it was my Daughter there’s not a sole on earth that would be safe from my wrath if I were to catch them before the law did. Please pray for this family Lord knows they need it.

What a horrible tragedy. Who in the world could do this to a beautiful, innocent little girl. My deepest sympathies are with her family- I am so sorry you are going through this. Prayers go out to the family and also to our law enforcement that they will quickly find and arrest the filthy animal that took the little girl’s life. She deserved better than this. Anyone who knows anything please,please let law enforcement know. Let’s get this person before they do this again!
