Not sure how it works in AL, but I believe in Florida, civilians can use deadly force to stop a criminal from fleeing when a Violent Felony has taken place. Maybe one of our fine LEO’s could validate that for us.

Scumbag thief should have had his thug head blown off.

I say it was self defense, he’s the one that got hit in the head, those people came to his residence, went in his residence & done what they did. So what if they were leaving at least that guy could do something, at least he may not feel as ashamed that he couldn’t do anything. Not saying he does or would have, but have you ever been broken into & had that feeling or other feelings that you couldn’t do anything? I bet not. That man might’ve saved his & someone else’s lives if maybe a child was there taking a nap. One man victim & how many burglars? That man did good at waiting. I have so much more to say but I will not at this time.

    @ Dennis HE Wiggins

Leave your address here so they can come to your house. Do as you please, but for us we would rather shoot and be proud. The resident was most likely unable to react sooner since being hit in the head. He did what he had to do. At least they are caught and not tantalizing anyone else. Proud of you resident on Foshee Road. Need more citizens like you.

Let me be politically correct. Yes WalnutHill, i hope he goes to prison and gets three hot meals, cable tv, a bed and a roof forever at the cost of you and i. And lets not forget political correctness is the same as trying to hold a piece of…fertilizer by the clean end.

    @ Dennis HE Wiggins:
You or the law might not see this as self defense, but his actions will certainly reduce the odds of them or anyone else preying on him again. therefore absolutely being self defense in my opinion.

Gee, I hope he gets better so he can go to prison for a good long time. Is that what you wanted us to say, JC?

Much as I applaud this gentleman for protecting what is his, this was NOT self defense. They were already fleeing when he did this. Better hope the Sheriff and/or DA doesn’t want to pursue charges. (Of course they really shouldn’t, and hopefully those gentlemen will see this for what it was – an “act of passion.”

Too bad ‘the resident’ couldn’t get to that street howitzer any soon. Thugs tried to TAKE what that man had no doubt WORKed hard for. Hate he only hit one. Thank God and our founding fathers for the right to keep and bear arms
