Deputies Believe Molino Shooting Victim Knew Her Killer

May 1, 2017

Investigators believe the Molino woman murdered Sunday knew her killer.

Anna Louis Brown, 38, was found shot and killed on Gibson Road off Crabtree Church Road in Molino Sunday afternoon. Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene; her body was discovered on or near the roadway.

“We do not believe this was a random act,” Maj. Andrew Hobbs of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said Monday morning. “We believe she knew the person that killed her.” The Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of any possible suspect.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at  (850) 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP

Further details will be posted as they become available in this developing story.

Come on people ales you want to greave is the northern end of the county and complain. This is a dreadful act made by on person that she probably new. Not someone running the roads just shooting. This kind of crime can take place any where. So let’s think about this sad unfortunate young lady and her family what this site should be used for.

Any new updates on this..?? We still have a killer at large possibly still roming our local streets.. Any additional info could potentially allow us to safe guard our families or even possibly assist in the apprehension of this murderous low life scum..

I rode the bus with her son, he was the sweetest little boy I have ever met. Sending prayers to the family. This is such a terrible thing that has happened, but God has a plan, he always does.

I currently work (worked) with Anna and she was the sweetest most genuine person. She didn’t deserve to leave the world by like this but it brings me comfort knowing she is in Heaven, smiling down on her beautiful children. She will never be for gotten and I will always remember seeing her sweet smile every morning. God Bless her family.

    “CONSIDERING:
“If this kinda stuff keeps up though…me and mine might start looking further north…Like up Uriah or Hwy 113 way.””

    Gladly if it were inhabitable.

Outrageous for retorts to smart aleck commenters.

  7. Jessie on May 2nd, 2017 8:59 am

Anna was my best friend growing up. I can’t believe that this happened to her, I am in shock. She was such a beautiful person and certainly didn’t deserve this!

You might have to consider Mars. My cousin’s husband murdered their two sons and then killed himself up on 113.

    REGARDING:
“who cares, what town is considered North end of the county?”

Obviously the one who brought it up cares. Just because you don’t care, doesn’t mean nobody else is allowed to care. Folks can even care about more than one matter at the same time.

    David for caring people

I was born & raised up here about 2 miles from this unthinkable action. And no its not like it was, when roads were dirt and everyone knew each other thru Generations of cousins & friends. Its so sad that trust is lost.We have (Our ) family have lived on same land about 120 years. So have a lot of the older families .All need to look after all.Like a village it use to be.Prayers & Blessings for her family.Im sure she is in Our Creators hands right now All be careful & get to know your neighbor….

  18. outrageous on May 1st, 2017 4:54 pm

This is getting ridiculous!!! I trust our guys (and ladies [inblue]) will find the dirtbag that did this, but seriously…I’m getting really tired of reading about this sort of thing so close to home!!! I moved OUT of the city to get away from this crap. I grew up in the country and this was UNHEARD of in the old days. And Molino used to be considered the north end of the county…maybe not as much now because of the urban sprawl of the Pensacola’s growth. If this kinda stuff keeps up though…me and mine might start looking further north…Like up Uriah or Hwy 113 way. SMH. Poor girl…prayers to her family….

  19. tessa brown on May 1st, 2017 4:10 pm

Anna was my aunt , and even though I did not always understand her ,I loved her. I can not even imagine how her kids( my cousins) are feeling .I hope that whoever did this is caught.

    CONSIDERING:
” Molino is not the north end of county. Walnut hill, Bratt and Century are the north end.”

It’s in the northern third, more or less. (Don’t forget Skeeter Flats and Davisville.)

    David for inclusivity

I was sorry to hear of this tragic news. What did Anna ever do to anyone to deserve this. She is my cousin and was very sweet. I never knew her to have ugly words towards anyone. I only knew her to have a smile on her face. I hope they catch the sorry scum bag that did this. Love you Anna. Uncle Dougs family loves you.

As her co-worker, I knew Anna as one of the most precious people I’ve ever known! She was always an inspiration carrying herself in such a Godly manner. I can’t understand why someone would harm her and leave her precious children without a mom! I pray for those babies in days to come! Love you, Anna Banana!

  24. old fashioned on May 1st, 2017 1:39 pm

Very sad, bad tragedy on a rural road on Sunday afternoon. This is not like the old days, anymore. All people must be careful these days – especially ladies. Try to travel in groups or pairs like the Mennonites when possible.

  26. Sadden on May 1st, 2017 1:09 pm

Anne was a good friend and coworker in Atmore. I’ve never met anyone with a warmer heart. She always had a smile on her face with a great attitude, and was always willing to reach out and help a friend. She loved God and God was her rock. How could someone kill this wonderful lady…it’s just not right and she left behind two beautiful children that no longer has a mother. This is so sad. If everyone was like Anna our world would be a better place but now someone has wrongfully take her from us.

Anna you will be in our hearts and minds forever. We will never forget the joy you brought to our lifes.

I agree with getting to know your neighbors. Those of us who have been here a while or all our lives, do. For the newcomers used to living in tightlipped cookie cutter neighborhoods, show your personality a little. Wave to strangers. You’d be surprised how nice and thoughtful folks really are. I had to be in the hospital once and my neighbors wife made supper for my family and he even cut my grass. We’re talking 5 acres of grass. That way, you can help look out for each other like a community is supposed to.
Sorry to the family of this woman. My prayers will be for you.
Tired of the crime that seems to be steadily reaching it’s way this direction from the cesspools of Pensacola.

    >>>Wonder if she was from the Molino/Pensacola area?

    Very first line of story:

“Investigators believe the **Molino woman**murdered Sunday”

  32. anne 1of2 on May 1st, 2017 11:40 am

I am so sorry for her family! I guess we need to leave the short list of anyone we are having words with on the kitchen table to at least give the law officers a starting place. I cannot believe it has come to this. Murder does not solve the problem, it multiplies it.

  35. Jcellops on May 1st, 2017 10:31 am

Northend needs to have a few Neighborhood Watches organized throughout that area- guns are good, but still, a cooperative group effort of sharing information, anti-crime education and just getting to know your neighbors and their concerns can only help the growing situation. You’re taxpayers too..the sheriff’s community relations department will help guide you to get set up.

  36. david lamb on May 1st, 2017 9:37 am

Such a sweet young woman with young kids. She is my niece. She was moving and had sold her home. I hope the scumbag that shot her is captured soon, before he flees! Our family is devastated. We are all in shock

  37. Michele Horn on May 1st, 2017 9:16 am

Why is another human’s life so easy to dispose of, now days? It makes me scared for all of my family, especially my 6 year old grandson. Such a sad, scary world. Prayers to this woman’s family. No one should die on the side of the road in a ditch.
She deserved better than that, no matter what she was doing or who she was!!

I’m very confident that our Sheriff Dept will find the responsible party involved.

  40. Chris in Molino on May 1st, 2017 8:03 am

I don’t know the situation but I’m sorry for the woman’s family. I can tell you I would never call the cops for a problem I have with someone. For example, steal from my property and you wouldn’t have to worry about being found on the side of the road. That’s what’s wrong with the world now, everyone wants to call the law for any little thing. The world has become soft.

Scary for this area. I hope this isn’t the work of a serial murder case. Two now on off the beaten path roads… Keep us informed ECSO. I have heard Oh its Meth related …. Whatever its murder. Be careful folks.

  45. Howie on May 1st, 2017 2:18 am

The issue here is: people have no regard for the life of others. They kill for nothing. I hope they find the person responsible for this. Prayers to the woman’s family and friends who knew her.

@ Laura – it seems to be happening in just one location lately. But killers will take bodies and dump them in areas just as the area in this story. They think they’re hiding a body and hopefully won’t be found.

Dumped near the roadway and the killer don’t care. Our justice system don’t care either. It’s sickening to read and hear about all the
crime in this once safe place to live. You have to live armed these days.
