No Injuries In Minor Cantonment Wreck

May 14, 2017

A driver struck fence and a few bushes on Highway 95A at Woodbury Circle in Cantonment about 9:20 Sunday morning. She was not injured.

The driver reportedly swerved to avoid being hit by another vehicle that pulled out in front of her, causing her to leave the roadway and strike the fence located at the rear of the Tom Thumb on Highway 29 at Woodbury Circle.

The accident was under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Tammy, I couldn’t agree more. Even the turn from Tom Thumb onto 95A is dangerous. Heck, a compromise would be to at least repair that I resection.

There should b a turning lane there for the road past the tom thumb.

Glad it was minor and I hope the driver is okay. That is a poorly-engineered intersection and a narrow roadway, and it should be redesigned. I’ve had near-misses there myself when folks travel eastbound on Woodbury, especially if they try to navigate the way-too-tight turn southbound to 95A. The county should bear responsibility for this poorly engineered intersection. The driver at fault is, of course, to blame in this case, but it’s still a bad intersection.
