Donald F. Lewis, Jr.

April 25, 2017

Donald (Don) F. Lewis, Jr., of Pensacola, FL, passed away on April 20, 2017, after his six month battle with cancer. Don was surrounded by his wife of 37 years, Christy Lewis; son, Donald F. Lewis III; daughter, Ciara Kervin, and so many other family and friends. Don was an electrician by trade for over 38 years, and spent the past 11 years employed at Ascend.

He was a perfect example of a “good man.” He was a softball and baseball coach to his daughter, son, and granddaughters at Bellview, Pace and NEP ballparks. He was also a “buddy,” to his grandson. Don was the dad cheering on his son at every football game, and the one at every event for his daughter and grandchildren. He really enjoyed camping, boating and hunting. He was the best husband and always put his family first. His tender heart, friendship, and love for his family and friends will truly be missed.

Don is survived by his high school sweetheart, Christy Lewis; son, Donald (Donnie) Lewis III; daughter, Ciara (Devan) Kervin; grandchildren, Payton and Adalyn (Shiela) Lewis and Kamden Kervin; sisters, Dena Oldfield, Donna Nezovich and Dianna Bair. He had numerous nieces, nephews and an uncle.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Donald F. and Barbara L. Lewis.

Pallbearers will be his dear friend, Ben Cawby, and nephews, Johnny Perkins, Stacy Perkins, Lonnie Perkins, Scotty Willard and Lee Willard.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Wales, Donnie Kervin, Brandon Ruiz, Jason Cawby, Billy Redmond, Bill Redmond and Jody Nezovich.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Jan Presley-Davis, and the West Florida Covenant Hospice team for everything they have done for them.

Visitation will be at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, from 10 a.m. until the service begins at 12 p.m., with Pastor Ken Ponder officiating.

Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North is in charge of arrangements.
