I agree with Jason, no CO assault without more time added! Tasers & nightsticks with generous application!

WHEN IS CENTURY GOING TO HIRE MORE OFFICERS? THIS IS RIDICULOUS! DO YOU REALLY THINK WRITING AN INMATE UP IS GOING TO STOP THE NUMEROUS ATTACKS AT CENTURY? DO SOMETHING BEFORE THE OFFICERS ARE KILLED! SHAME ON THOSE IN CHARGE FOR NOT PROTECTING OUR OFFICERS!

“…..Tibbs will receive a disciplinary report for the assault.”…..

The attacks on correctional staff will continue to occur. This incident is actually a 3rd degree felony offense of “Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer” – FSS 784.07(1d). This inmate should be arrested on the new charge and receive additional state time consecutive to his current prison sentence.

Some of these inmates commit additional criminal offense while incarcerated as a means to get moved from one facility to another. Regardless, correctional staff need to be encouraged to press charges just as any crime victim would be provided the option.

Wondering ???? Can the inmate be charged and if found quilty be given additional time ? If not Surely this will effect his “good time” points ? And didn’t this just happen to another officer a couple weeks ago by inmate serving life for murder , or was that somewhere else I was reading about ? These officers do not get paid enough for this dangerous job !

You hit the nail on the head, Pete. Ridiculous to fill out a disciplinary report as punishment – the rest of the prison population is probably shaking for fear !!! I might test the legal system by punching the next person in the nose who says or does something that I don’t agree with. Does anyone know if these “Now, Now, be nice” letters are delivered by certified mail?

If he had done this on the street, to anyone, he would be charged with assault. To bad a Corrections Officer safety is not held to the same standard. We Walk Alone.

So glad you are reporting the attacks on the correctional officers.
