Cantonment Man Charged With Assault, Battery With Deadly Weapon

April 24, 2017

A Cantonment man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly pointing a gun at and pistol whipping the father of his girlfriend’s children.

Cedric Terrell Gray, 21, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and battery.

The victim told deputies the mother of his children and Gray, her current boyfriend, followed him to the Raceway gas station on Highway 29 at Muscogee Road in Cantonment.  Gray exited his Nissan Murano, approached the driver’s side window, punched it and told him to get out of the car, according to an arrest report. The victim refused because his child was in the vehicle and told Gray to meet him at his mother’s house on Stinnis Street.

They both then drove to Stinnis Streeet. Gray exited the Murano with a firearm, pointed it at the victim and then took several swings at the victim with the gun, hitting him in the back of the head, causing a laceration.  They then started to physically fight, the report states. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.

Gray returned to the scene after deputies arrived, and he was placed under arrest without further incident. He was later released from the Escambia County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

The Nissan Murano was seized for forfeiture by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office because it was used in the crime.

I don’t understand Gray’s disposition, his anger seems dis-placed, unless I’m reading it wrong what was the reasoning behind him following the baby’s father to the gas station then attacking him in public with the child in the car to see the whole thing!?!?!?!? What was he so angry with this man about to go these extensive measures …. 9 times out of 10 he (Gray) isn’t exactly being nominated for “Step Father Of The Year.’

I don’t know any of these people, but Willie as far as child protective services, you can hang that one up, they are a joke, I’ve known several children whom needed their assistance and they turn the other cheek, they say their job is to try and keep families together, not year them apart….What a Joke !!!!

Cedric, if your record in the courts is any indication of how you handle things, it looks as though this is a continuous pattern. How many times do you need to be taken to jail for battery(and other charges) before you learn that you need to make a change within YOU? It’s not everyone else’s fault that YOU have a problem. YOU made a choice to get in a fight with another person. YOU have multiple felony convictions which precludes you from being able to carry a firearm, but you beat a man with a pistol. YOU are the focus here, not everyone else. It’s time that YOU grow up and make a change in YOU and quit blaming the world on YOUR problems. I’d say a prayer for you but sometimes even that doesn’t work. You have to want the change to make the change happen. Good luck.

The number of cars (or houses or Air Jordans or baby mamas) you have means nothing. Character is everything.

nice example to set for the kids involved. Nothing like a loving family atmosphere to show them what a semi-normal life would be like. A job and three cars………but no more common sense than to let this happen. Nice. I wonder how long it’ll be before child protective services will have a look at baby-momma.
