Want To Learn More About Solar Power For Your Home?

March 7, 2017

Are you interested in learning more about solar energy but not sure if it’s right for you?  Escambia County Extension will present a program on Friday, March 24 from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m with solar contractors and experts.

The three-hour program  will include expert insight into trends in the solar industry and local utilities; options for components and installation; and how to calculate energy production and return on investment (ROI)

After the educational sessions, hands-on demonstrations and information will be available from representatives with Compass Solar Energy and SunFarm Energy.

The program will be held at the Escambia County Extension office at 3740 Stefani Road in Cantonment.

Hi all. I am very glad to hear of the interest in the upcoming program. We will host another meeting later this year on a Saturday–this is a joint effort with Leon County Extension. I have local speakers and some being videoconferenced in from Tallahassee, so I was restricted to their schedule. I promise we haven’t forgotten about working folks!

I really am looking forward to this class. I’ve always wanted to do this but had no idea where to start

@Just Wondering, I feel your pain. I worked shift work for over 30 years and you are exactly correct on your concern. I am retired now but I haven’t forgotten the working people! I will ask them in person as to the reason a weekend date couldn’t be arranged for better attendance.

They never hold these things when people that are really interested in this can go to them, who do they expect to come… just the elderly/ retired folks. Hold one on the weekends guys, you’ll probably get a better turnout.
