A fire that ripped through a storage building at a Cantonment car wash Friday night was believed to be arson.

About 10 p.m., witnesses reported seeing juveniles set the storage building on fire before running away. The building, located at the old Highway 29 car wash across from International Paper, was a total loss.

Anyone with information on the incident can callĀ  the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

Me my self i think that the parents should be helt accountable for what their kid do bucause you teach them at home that what they do in the streets is a reflection of the way you was brought up i knew better because when bubba found out it was that thin leather belt!!!!!!!!

I agree they can make juveniles volunter work as a punishment they should have to form a car wash for donations to help with fixing this. The children would have only so much time to fix what they destroyed. The children would have to supply their supplies. And if they and their parent couldn’t fix what is wronged then charge them all the way with Arson I’m sure once a juvenile finds out how serious Arson is they will think about their choice of not then that’s on them.

@matchbox, the tiniest pop on the hand is abuse now . I was told in a training class we have to call & report it if a kid says they got popped, it was hard to contain that laugh. I still believe in open hand is disicpline closed is abuse, ill gladly look the other way if a kid needs a whoopin lol everythings abuse and kids got nooooo respect, my parents went thru MANYYY leather belts for us. Awww man. I hate this. Those guys has built that car wash from scarp and were doing outstanding job. I let them wash my car a few times and have always been happy with their work. I agree with Margaret Welch 100%. I hope the community comes together, have some sort of event to raise money to help them get back their business.

Those kids need to be made to pay restuation to the owner & work to clean up their mess & rebuild it with their own money & be put in a boot camp for juvenile offenders that’s what is needed here putting them in Jail doesnt work it makes matters worse if u put them to doing something other than in jail make them work for hard be constructed do something that way they have no time on their hands to do wrong be out being into trouble & if the parents will buckle down on their kids & start correcting them instead of being their friend be their parent spare the rod spoil the child the Bible says that means if u don’t if u don’t buckle down on them spoil them let them get their way their is always kids getting into trouble so parents start spanking ur child when they do wrong there is a right way & a wrong way to correct ur child but correct ur child none the less people start before its to late or ur kids kr going to walk on u
