Cantonment Man Trapped In Early Morning Crash

February 26, 2017

A Cantonment man was seriously injured in a single vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning

The Florida Highway Patrol said  43-year old Daniel Goodale lost control on Jacks Branch Road near Old Bridge Road, ran off the roadway and struck a culvert about 12:15 a.m. Officials said 2003 Nissan Altima then went airborne for almost 100 feet before crashing into a ditch. Goodale was trapped in the vehicle after it came to rest on its side. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to stabilize the vehicle and free the driver.

Goodale was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to West Florida Hospital. Any charges in the crash are pending, according to the FHP as they continue their investigation.

The Molino and Cantonment stations of Escambia Fire Rescue and Escambia County EMS also responded to the accident.

Just be thankful for what you have and not what you dont. Sometimes it taked a tragedy to wake up and smell the coffee, on the other hand, what started out as concerns. Turned into a Dam mini Facebook. Something that Daniel is very familiar with…

Well did they find the driver, check in the trees and everything being that you went Airborne a hundred feet I hope they looked in the trees and ditches he could be dead or in critical condition somewere… I mean it took them 30 minutes to cut you out of car…. well wherever they are I hope they’re safe and God is watching out for them.

Well mr. OMG I’m so glad you are in a great investigator to say I was the driver I was in the car so I think I didn’t know and if you know me and my parents you would know who was driving so and that being said stop pointing the finger at something that you don’t even have a clue about and that’s how rumors get started by people like you with the loose lips that sink a ship so I guess you’re the one that said I was in critical condition on life support and I was paralyzed wow that’s rumors and that would be you mr. OMG

This individual is joke.complete joke.He was driving and the Lord up above knows he was.Too many ppl in a small town.Know the truth.Did not know a 2003 Nissan Altimas came equipped with Auto Pilot..LOL So with this being said he needs to go home and count his blessings and count sheep. He’s burning way too many Midnight Oils. This is not his first Rodeo and not his last.I feel sorry for his Parents he keeps putting them through Pure Hell.

I agree with Karen (above). When will people learn that sudden stops after excessive speed will hurt, maime, or kill. If air borne for 100 feet his speed was insane. Glad that innocent people were not hurt.

. Thanks for the though thanks for the thoughts and prayers I’m oka I’m okay A little bruised up but I did learn a valuable lesson by not letting somebody else Drive says I was driving but I wasn’t

Glad he’s ok, but it is pure stupidity to not wear your seat belt and to be airborne for that distance he must have been hauling britches. Everybody is always so eager to blame the roads and intersections around the county for all the wrecks but the blame 99.9% of the time belongs to the drivers of those vehicles as the ads say SLOW DOWN AND LIVE and SEAT BELTS SAVES LIVES.

I hope some one will let us know how he’s doing. I know a lot are concerned for him and are praying for him.

If he was airborne for over 100 feet I’d be willing to bet he was going well in excess of the posted limits for that road(nit unusual for that little racetrack) seat belt on and slow it down would have changed it all. Then again, maybe he thought he was driving the general lee?
