Willie Edward Olsen Sr., 73, of Atmore, AL, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017. Mr. Olsen was born on March 31, 1943, in Pensacola, FL to Pete and Effie Olsen. He was a resident of Pensacola, FL and Baldwin County, AL for the majority of his life. He was a member of The Jockey Club and had a love of racing horses like no other. He was a loving father, “Pop”, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Helen Cole and Ruby Moore; and his brother, Howard “Peter-boy” Olsen.

He is survived by his sons, Edward Olsen (Jennifer) of Montgomery, AL, Richard “Rick” Olsen (Sarah) of Fairhope, AL; his daughter, Crystal Olsen-Clark (Randall) of Elberta, AL; eight grandchildren that were his pride and joy. Grandsons include Jackson, Bryson, Landon, Connor, Dominik, and Sailor, as well as his granddaughters, Avery and Anna-Claire; sisters, Frances Hampton of McDavid, FL, Mary Ferguson of Pensacola, FL, Janis Scott (Larry) of Pensacola, FL, Nelree Williams of Pensacola, FL, Janey Hood (Tom) of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Jerry Olsen and Mike Olsen of Pensacola, FL.

Pallbearers will be David Martinez, Timothy Holland, James Walker, Kevin Cole, Tom Hood, Allen Hampton, Mike Coleman, and Mark Lindsey.

Honorary pallbearer is his lifelong friend, Roger Kervin.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, with services beginning at 3 p.m. Pastor Joshua Wallnofer will be officiating.

Interment will follow at Klondike Baptist Church Cemetery.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North is in charge of arrangements.
