Convenience Store Robbed At Gunpoint

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery Wednesday night at a Cantonment convenience store.

A white male suspect armed with a firearm entered the CMP Food Mart at 400 North Highway 29 shortly before 10 p.m.  with his face covered. He asked the clerk for cigarettes before fleeing, according to Deputy Jacob Holloway, spokesperson for the Escambia Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies established a perimeter and a K-9 unit searched the area, but there was no arrest at last report.

There were no injuries reported.

Further details have were not released as the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office continues their investigation.

    For your information i was the clerk on duty that nite an yes he did have a gun an yes he did hold an point the gun at me. All the while telling me i dont want to hurt you. So for the record yes i was afraid i wasn’t going home that night. An thank God for what ever the reason was he left the store. With nothing an me alive.

    I wonder if the gun was an AR15 or a Ruger 9MM, we had a break in and robbery last week and that’s 2 of the items stolen and have the possible suspect on camera and sure would like the guns back!!!!

    Jay- not the cigs , if he left without anything he still needs at least 5 years for showing a gun in the crime. This is what gives ALL gun owners a bad name and I dont like having it.

    Privately owned convenience store owners; ARM YOURSELVES!

    As soon as store owners start dropping these robbers, the popularity for these armed robberies will begin to wane.
