Century To Swear In New Mayor Tonight

The Town of Century will swear in it s first new mayor in nine years tonight.

Henry Hawkins defeated incumbent two-term mayor Freddie McCall. He will be sworn in at 7 p.m. during a regular council meeting. The meeting has been moved from the town hall to the Century Community Center.  The venue change was made to allow an expected larger than normal crowd to attend the meeting for to see Hawkins take office.

The second town council meeting of January has been moved from January 16 to Monday, January 23 at 7 p.m. at the Century Town Hall. The meeting was rescheduled due to the Martin Luther King Day holiday.
