As I agree with some of the previous comments. I feel the need to express it is not the County nor the Commissioners job to make everything perfect. I do feel the county should funnel a little more money into the public parks, but providing a clean ,safe , and fun environment starts with the community surrounding each park. Parents should work together and form good core group of men and women to run their parks. It has been many years since Cantonment has had this and you see the results. I am glad to see someone has taken the initiative and is working on the park. Perdido has great facilities as with several others but they do because the parents within the community work to provide that. Molino is another park that you visit and can tell the parents there put the work in to provide a great park. Their fields in my opinion are the best around and we visit quite a few each season. I encourage you to get involved and help make the positive difference.
This sports plex could and should be the best in the County north of 9
mile rd. But it seems like that the Commissioners have no interest in
seeing it happen. The Perdido complex is extraordinary and serves
those citizens very well and is a “draw” for the entire area. Curiously
our Dist # 5 Commissioner seems to show no interest. But at least the
kid operating the tiller is trying to do it himself.
I’m so happy to see this park being cleaned up and ready. We need to have a big push to “get kids back in the ball parks”. It’s sad how many kids are growing up without knowing the joy of playing ball on an organized team. Unfortunately, is just so expensive to play ball, that many parents can’t afford it.
